link Save 30% NOW through January 30th, 2012

What can I tell you? It has been two weeks since I last posted…I know, I have not been the best lately, BUT, this will make my customers happy!

January Special:

Save 30% now for the next two weeks on your ENTIRE ORDER! Shop now, details below….

It has been a busy and crazy Fall/Winter so far! My youngest daughter just turned 3 and she is so particular. She refuses to wear pants and shirts, ONLY dresses and particularly “party” dresses. So, mornings are not the easiest, as you can imagine. With temperatures below 30 degrees, I would much rather bundle my cute daughter in warm pants and sweaters, but oh, no G-d forbid I do that!  You must choose your battles, so I do, but it still takes time each and every morning. I wish there were uniforms for 3/4 year olds! Are there any schools that have uniforms that young?

I also have been under the weather a lot over the last few months and even got Pneumonia, so I guess my immune system is shot, not sure. I eat fairly well, though I have included TONS of chocolate lately, (I so love chocolate, especially the Lindt/Lindor chocolate truffles which are now Kosher…unfortunately or fortunately).  I would definitely say that chocolates/sweets are totally my VICE. I am sure I am not the only one…and I see my oldest daughter has totally followed in my footsteps, not a good thing!

It is also winter break for all three of my kids starting this Thursday and I have as of yet, NO plans! I feel so disorganized. Hopefully, I can figure out something fun last minute, albeit not too far away. We are thinking of doing the indoor water park thing, my kids enjoy that, so we shall see.

Lastly, but perhaps the MOST important thing, since cupcakes have been a part of our house since early January when it was our daughter’s third birthday, I decided to make the next two weeks sweet for you all as well. I am offering 30% off your entire order NOW (Jan. 16th) for the next two weeks ONLY! So, shop, stock up and save, save, save! This is one of the biggest discounts I have ever offered. So, take advantage NOW! Use coupon code WOWsave30 at checkout time. Happy shopping!

Check back often, as we will soon be adding new products.

link Here is an important word, CONSISTENCY. Why is it so hard to maintain?

Now back to the topic at hand, “Consistency”. I was just thinking about my busy hectic life with my family and business and came to the realization, at least for ME that is, lots of what I find difficult in my day to day routine is just that, I don’t have a routine…I TRY to, but each day presents to me new issues and challenges, whether it be a sick kid, a toddler who is having meltdown after meltdown, extreme heat, etc. I feel that I have to adapt to each and every day as its own separate entity. Does anyone else out there feel the same way? I would love to hear your responses.

Most of my friends think I am neat and organized, but I feel the complete opposite. I WISH I could keep my house neat all the time, the way I like it and feel better about, but with three kids and no housekeeper, just good ol’ moi, it can’t always get tidied up as nicely as I would like it to be.  I have also realized that I come up with often very good ideas to keep my children on their toes and behaving in appropriate manners by having “charts”. THE INFAMOUS CHARTS! Well, let me tell you, over the years, I have had several different kinds and they all start off great, but then about the second or third week or if I am extremely lucky, the end of the first month, it sort of gets pushed aside and forgotten about. I know that children thrive with DISCIPLINE and C O N S I S T E N C Y, but I often find it so tough!!!!

Why can I not always carry out my plan? I do try…but it is like I run out of steam…am I beating myself up too much or am I doing okay? I know I am a bit hard on myself, but I HATE when I go to bed with dishes in the sink, for a while I was being really good, cleaning the dishes right away, etc. and even keeping the counter tops free of boxes of snacks, kids trinkets, coupons and other miscellaneous papers, but somehow, they creep back up on me so quickly. Why is that?

Anyway, I do believe in my heart that if I was always consistent with everything, my life would run much smoother, but would I really be happier? I think that I would, but I am not so sure. It does not leave too much room for spontaneity or excitement, right? Come on, back me up on this one, fans!

Please leave your comments, ideas or suggestions, I would SO appreciate to hear them. Thanks for reading my blog.

link Random Thoughts...

I can’t believe I have been so bad about my blogging. How do other busy at home or work at home moms manage to find time? I am lucky if I get dressed first thing in the morning; in fact, I took my hubby to the bus stop this morning in my PJ’s along with my toddler….in her PJ’s and boots. (that is what she wanted to wear, even though there is no snow right now).  I am thrilled when I can get the dishes in the sink washed, the beds made, the laundry folded and put away and know what I will make for dinner. Beyond that, it is all extra.  I love to snuggle and nap with my baby, but lately she does not want to nap, don’t tell me she is giving up my nap, er…umm…I mean, her nap! :) what is a mother to do? I live for that time where I often nap alongside her for about an hour, then I go and do my stuff around the house, pay bills, check emails, tidy up, etc. Oh well, stages of childhood…Some day, she will go to Pre-school! I know she will LOVE it, in fact, of my three children, she has been home with me the longest. My other two were already in school by their 2nd birthday. But, she is a January baby, so…plus, our expenses are high here so she will be with me again this year, go to school at 3.

Okay, so last night, I went and “fixed up” my daughter’s project…I am not so sure she will be all that thrilled with me. She is doing a major STATES project in her fifth grade class. She chose Las Vegas, NV. She has to come in costume and she decided to dress up as a “hotel”. She chose the Flamingo Hotel. (we went there on vacation a few summers ago and they have fond memories of it). However, she needed a little touching up. I KNOW she is going to notice and say “Mom, you did not add the correct shade of PINK”. What can I say? She was right. I could not get it correct, but it needed another coat; I tried the best I could, really… She also had to choose a FOOD of that state to give out…she decided to get ONION RINGS! Ha ha…the potato chip kind…why? Because she told me (I did not know) that Nevada’s natural resource was ONIONS. LOL! Our kids sure know more than we do!

As I snuck downstairs after my daughter had gone up to bed, I had this sense of joy at being her mother. I felt like THIS IS WHAT IT MEANS TO BE A MOTHER, caring to make your child’s projects a good one, helping them out when you know they feel overwhelmed. I typed up her writing assignment last night b/c she has a difficult time typing it up…she was so relieved. Isn’t it our job to make their lives easier? I know my own mother has always done just that! I am so thankful to have her in my life, even as I am an adult, mother, wife and have children….we ALWAYS need our mothers…I am so grateful to have mine. I speak to her daily…or at least almost daily.

I can’t believe it is SPRING but still feels so chilly. I am in dire need of sunshine, warmth and high degrees. I can’t stand bundling up anymore and when the weather forecast sometimes still discusses the four letter word, S N O W, I almost want to scream! NO, enough already. I am sure you all share my sentiments!

Come check out my adorable baby gifts and accessories at: www.startingoutsmall.com I am waiting for some new products to be up on the website, but come get some great prices while they are still around….

Ciao!
