I don’t often share photos of my kids online, but I just had to share these few that were taken today. In the first photo, my DD is wearing a fancy taffeta red dress that she insisted on wearing to school on Monday and I refused. (I let her cry for about 45 minutes b/c she only wanted to wear that particular dress and I would not let her). It did not matter that I explained I did not want it ruined while she painted or how it would be tough to go to the playground in that dress, the tears and wails just kept coming. I let her cry it out, until she got too tired and finally gave in. However, today, she again wanted to wear it and since she was not going to school (she only goes 3X’s a week) I gave in…I figured it is not what I would normally put my child in to go the grocery or the post office, but she is not harming me or herself, so why not? I mean, she did look so cute! So, off the store and post office we went!

In the second photo, I had just given my daughter a few jelly beans (positive reinforcement/treat) for going to the potty and she asked me to put them in her “box” and she planted herself right next to her big brother sitting and doing his homework on the couch. I thought it was a darling photo.

In the third photo, I have to admit, I did ask my children to “look at each other” and I quickly snapped the picture, I think it looked quite natural, what do you all think? It is so much fun taking photos of your cute kiddies…

I am now inspired to go take my point and shoot out and make use of it. Perhaps I can get some nice nature pictures tomorrow, if the weather is cooperative.

Anyone have any great photos to share? I miss taking my photography class! I use to take one every Tuesday evening at the local recreation center, but, after my third child was born, I never seem to have the time, energy, etc. Oh well. Hopefully, someday I can get back to going! It was a fun group of people and we had contests, etc.

link "No Kids Allowed Movement"...curious about what you all think?

Okay, I was just about to close the computer for the evening and came across this article and decided to post it on my blog and hear everyone’s thoughts. It is an interesting topic.

I have to say, I see both sides. What bothers me is that there are people that feel having children around is a nuisance and perhaps for them, it is, but hey, wasn’t he/she once a kid? Even if they never want kids, they still were born, would they have liked if everyone talked about him/her the way they were as children? I think NOT!

I totally see those people who feel that unruly kids should not be allowed to continue to stay at a restaurant, movie, hotel, etc. but the establishment should talk to the parents and I agree, having signs like this one here…is NOT very friendly to the public in general. It is not sending a nice message at all to the population, in my humble opinion. Of course, there will be places that are inappropriate to bring a child any time, i.e. a bar, night club, etc. BUT THERE HAS NEVER BEEN THOSE KINDS OF SIGNS. What are you going to start saying certain beaches should not have children playing and swimming? Come on, that is ridiculous! If you want to have a sign that says, ANYONE (that can include children) who is disruptive, will be asked to leave. That is fair, polite, etc. BUT, to have a following of NO KIDS ALLOWED and be so blatanly obvious and snooty, is not right. At least, that is my OPINION. People are surely quick to give their opinions in America and with freedom of speech rights, it is almost like verbal diarhea (excuse my language) for some…let’s just all try to get along!!! I always appreciate when I am out and about and some people mention how sweet my children are, how cute they are when they are singing a song or telling a joke or just being a …child! It is refreshing…

I would love to hear everyone else’s thoughts on this heated topic. PLEASE leave a comment here or on my facebook fan page! Thanks!

link Product Review: "CAROUSEL DREAMS - A collection of Lullabies:

Everyone loves music, right? But when it comes to your own children, are you more choosy about what you pick for them to listen to? I know many Moms and/or Dads, especially with their first baby love to choose music that is classic, such as famous nursery rhymes, classical music such as the greats, Beethoven, Mozart or Brahm’s Lullaby, so this CD that I reviewed is also a GREAT collection for babies and parents alike.

Carousel Dreams-A collection of Lullabies, produced by MoonDreams Music, Inc. was created by two Moms (and friends) who wanted to record beautiful music and inspire their own children.

A little background/info on the producer and the ones who wrote the words to the songs:

Susan Moss: A talented artist who sang all the vocals on this recording and wrote the lyrics to the following songs: Starlight Lullaby, Little Sleeping Angel & Night Song.

Donna Martin: A talented lyricist wrote the following songs on this compilation, Carousel Dreams, Twinkling Stars Above & Angel Blue Eyes.  There were of course, many other talented individuals who contributed to the making of this terrific CD, they include engineers, musicians as well as artists. It is truly a wonderful CD! I am not sure who enjoyed listening to it more, my 2 year old daughter or myself!

The music is so diverse, which made the listening all the more enjoyable! The catchy tunes made me sing along each time I play the CD. It is so soothing and melodious that it almost transforms you to a different world and time. It is truly “dream like”. You will definitely enjoy listening to it even after your little ones fall fast asleep.

The CD has also won several prestigious awards such as:

Parent’s Choice Summer 2003 Silver Award

iParenting Media Award

NAPPA 2003 Honor Award

To learn more about these awards, you can click on the following link and follow the URL instructions:

Okay, since Passover only ended a short while ago and it is such a production to prepare for, purchasing all the “allowed” foods and cleaning out the cabinets to make space for the food and bringing down the “chametz” (bread products) so that they are not in sight, etc. I only NOW had time to post these few pictures that I thought were worthy of posting. (Aren’t they so sweet? Of course, I am biased, but…aren’t they? )

It is a BIG JOB getting ready for this Jewish Spring Holiday; I use to love Passover; when I was a kid it was one of my favorite holidays, as an adult, I am not so sure anymore! :)

Truth be told, it was a lovely Passover this year, always a lot of work, but the kids enjoyed, stayed up at the “seders” (main meal/traditional). We were with family and we had good weather (except for the rain in the first few days).

Today, I also went into the city (NYC) to meet my hubby for lunch, it was so lovely. I really need to do that more often. We hardly ever have time together; he works long hours and I am busy with the business, taking care of my baby and the bigger kids when they got home, errands, cooking dinner, homework, etc. So, getting into New York, walking around, eating a nice lunch and then stopping by Macy’s was really nice. I am lucky I have a babysitter one time a week, so I can do it (without the baby). But, truthfully, when I get back to NJ, I can hardly wait to see my daughter’s smiley face. She just cheers me up no matter what is going on in my hectic life…she is a real joy and I am so enjoying her.

More another day…

link Great website for parents: all about issues relating to your children.

I just had my daughter’s 15 month checkup on Thursday. I guess I was slightly disappointed at first thinking that “what, she only gained less than a pound and a half in three months, but the pediatrician said that is normal, she looks great, etc. I guess I enjoyed her PLUMPIER! :) But, if she is healthy and reaching her milestones, which she is, thank goodness, then, I should not worry.

So, if you are like me, or millions of other moms and dads who have concerns or issues about raising their children or if they are reaching their milestones, check out this website I stumbled across. It is called: www.kidshealth.org. I think it is really easy to read, navigate and it has clear and concise information. I have checked out many topics here. Let me know what you think. Was it helpful?

Also, if anyone has any other great websites for parenting to check out, let me know. I am always on the hunt.

Enjoy your weekend everyone!
